Several members of The Black Psychiatrists of America converged in Houston for their spring gathering. To cap off several days of meetings, more than 50 of the physicians held a reception at the Gite Gallery. The reception was sponsored by Houston psychiatrists Dr. Kathy Flanagan, Dr. Larry Flowers, and Dr. Napoleon Higgins. In addition to the wonderful food, the doctors from across the U.S. also enjoyed the original art from across Africa and Cuba. Several of the psychiatrists were quick to purchase a number of paintings and artifacts to take back to their homes. The organization’s next meeting will be held in New Deli, India.
