A WORD FROM LLOYD [APRIL 2016]

CUB_009

Hello Art Lovers…

It’s April already and summer is just around the corner.  I’m still asking myself where the heck has the year gone!

March was a very busy month for us here at the gallery. We had a very successful launch of our new Cuban/Afro-Cuban art exhibit that was attended by hundreds of people. Oh, and I fell off a ladder at a client’s home and broke my index finger on my left hand. Ouch!  I took part in the local “Dancing with the Houston Stars” contest.  I didn’t win but remember I broke my finger one day before the event and I still performed. Ouch!  Ouch!

We at the gallery keep getting new clients who love what we do.  I am also putting the finishing touches on a Pearland home that my assistant, Trena, and I are decorating.  That’s been fun!  And did I mention that I broke my finger? The moral of that story is to stay away from ladders. I’m too old to be falling down. Ouch!

Last but not least, the Houston Holocaust Museum’s Art Circle at the end of March visited my home to view my private collection of African art, African-American art, and my collection of world art. They said the showing opened up a whole new world for them.  It’s important that we share our culture with the world and its many peoples…

All my best,
Lloyd
