In March 2016, Environmental Engineer Chrystal Beasley purchased a 1930’s home in the Third Ward, and boy did it need a lot of work. Beasley, 31, did much of the design work herself. The graduate of Booker T. Washington High School for Engineering Professions re-configured the nearly 1,500 sq. ft. space by tearing down walls, adding a master suite, updating bathrooms, replacing windows, adding crown molding, and re-configuring the kitchen.
Beasley, who graduated from LSU, began visiting The Gite Gallery soon after work began on the home. Over the months, she purchased more than 20 paintings for the space. Shortly before Beasley moved in, she enlisted the staff at The Gite Gallery to help with the interior design and hang the art. Here are some of the before and after pictures of the home.
