While countless Americans are waiting to experience the magic of Cuba, gallerist Lloyd Gite is already ahead of the game. Gite, who owns the Gite Gallery in historic Third Ward, is giving Houstonians a glimpse into the world of Cuban and Afro-Cuban art.
Seven months ago he spent 10 days in Cuba as part of an educational tour.
“I wanted to go to Cuba before it changed dramatically and thanks to the lifting of some sanctions by President Obama, I was able to do that,” said Gite, a former TV reporter.
