Here are some photos of clients that recently bought art from the gallery, hurried home and put them up!
Chante and Kenny Lloyd recently moved into their spacious new home in Sienna Plantation. For the entryway interior designer Dianne Maxey rushed over to The Gite Gallery looking for a few strong pieces.
For the two niches at the front door, Maxey found two large wooden Senufu statues from West Africa. She paired them with an antique wooden chair from Tanzania. Above the chair, Maxey chose a shadow-boxed white juju hat from Cameroon.
“From the very front of the house you are blown away with those African pieces. We could not have selected anything better for the entrance,” explains Maxey, who is the go-to designer for most upscale African-Americans in Houston.
Newlyweds Jacqueline and Art McElroy recently purchased a large canvas painting by artist “Kwame.” They decided to hang the piece on the wall of the staircase. It is clearly visible from the couple’s large family room which has two story ceilings.
“The brilliant colors really pop off of the wall,” says Art, who lives in Manvel with his wife and dog.
